For those of you that knew Jeff Kitaeff as Josh Burnett and I did, there aren’t any words to add at this moment.   For those who didn’t have the gift of knowing Jeff, I’m sure you can relate to losing a close, dear friend, a kind human being who made everything and everyone around him brighter, happier and effortlessly, simply lighter.  Jeff’s spirit and constant smile and positivity was a transcendental force–his sincere, selflessness and altruistic drive to lift others up always was something I don’t think I’ll ever see again.

After 3.5 years of battling advanced lung cancer, Jeff passed away in the early morning hours of September 17th.  Jeff was a dear, close friend and colleague to us and to the many, many other family, friends, clients, judges, colleagues and loved ones in Massachusetts and beyond.  Life goes on and we, like you, will keep Jeff in our hearts and minds and try to live our lives with a bit more humility, humor, jazz, scotch, kindness and love of others–that’s how Jeff lived every day.

He was a great friend and mentor to me. I know he would instead rather I call him a big brother. He was just that and more to me. His presence will be missed but will forever live on in every Jazz song I hear and every Scotch I sip.
